We are pleased to announce that JLC Consultation and its partners have signed a partnership agreement for a large-scale investment in mangrove expansion in Thailand.
A powerful step for climate and community
Mangroves are invaluable in the fight against climate change. They:
- Store up to 9.4 tons of CO₂ per rai annually, making them among the most effective ecosystems for long-term carbon storage (blue carbon).
- Protect coastal areas from erosion, flooding, and storm surges.
- Support biodiversity, acting as a nursery for the ocean and providing habitat for countless species.
Social impact
This collaboration benefits not only the environment but also people:
– Involvement of 93 local communities in several provinces.
– Employment opportunities in replanting, ecotourism, and the production of indigenous, sustainable products.
– Strengthening the local economy and social cohesion.
Innovative and future-oriented
The agreement also includes:
- Carbon certificates that enable the tradability of climate benefits.
- Tokenization of land and interests to organize ownership transfers transparently and securely.
- International positioning by involving embassies and European institutions, with the aim of promoting carbon-neutral Thai products.
